At FVH we believe that preventative care is very important. We recommend wellness exams once yearly for juvenile and adult patients and twice-yearly exams for geriatric patients. We also provide early detection laboratory testing. Our patients can’t tell us when something is wrong. The doctors at FVH are experts at finding things that can be very subtle and missed in routine life. We are also attentive to conditions that may be prevented before they occur.
We discuss the lifestyle of every patient and their family to determine what vaccinations should be administered. We follow the vaccine recommendations of the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Based on these guidelines we tailor a vaccine schedule for your pet.
Unique to our area, our hospital offers Purevax feline vaccinations. These are nonadjuvanted vaccines that provide rapid, comprehensive immune responses that your cat needs and reduces the potential risks associated with other adjuvanted vaccines. These risks include injection site reactions, injection site granulomas and chronic inflammation.
Heartworm testing and prevention, feline leukemia and AIDS testing, parasite control, nutrition counseling and microchipping are also offered.
